Dear MP (or Senator),

I live in your electorate and I’m writing to ask the government to fund solar panels and batteries for all schools, child care centres and preschools in Australia.

This is the perfect way to create jobs across the country, save schools and early childhood centres money from power bills to put towards learning resources and teaching staff, and  cut Australia's carbon emissions.

- If every school and early childhood centre were to get solar and batteries, at least 6,870 renewable energy jobs would be created* in all regions of Australia.

- Having solar and batteries will slash school energy bills which frees up more funds for learning resources. Having solar and batteries, and selling excess energy into the grid, would allow large schools to save $114,000 in energy bills per year and small schools $12,700 per year* - money that could then be spent on more teachers, books or classrooms!

- A program of solar and batteries for all schools and early childhood centres would save millions of tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

I am a supporter of Australian Parents For Climate Action's Solar Our Schools campaign, and think you should be too. Solar Our Schools is a win-win-win for schools, families and our children's future.

I want the Federal government to fund this program in the October budget. Will you please let me know if you will take this to your party and to the parliament and seek Cabinet support for this program?

Yours sincerely,
