Phoebe Howe | Staff - Program Director

Phoebe Howe has 15 years experience working with communities to build power to win protections for our climate, environment and human rights. From running campaigns to win local emissions reduction laws as a volunteer during university, to supporting volunteer networks at the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and Amnesty International Australia, Phoebe has a passion for connecting people, and growing their skills and capacity to make change in the world around them. Before heading on maternity leave, Phoebe was the general manager of a call centre that ran fundraising and advocacy campaigns for many of Australia's leading environment, health and human rights organisations. Phoebe loves sharing songs and playing the role of various animals with her toddler, and especially cycling together on Canberra's leafy bike paths.

"I've been working to look after our climate since learning about how we are altering our planet at school. It took a little time to reconcile having my baby with such an uncertain and scary time in our history. As a parent, it's even clearer to me that wanting the best for one another and the planet is truly universal. It's simple - every kid deserves to thrive and be happy, and for that to happen we need a healthy planet."
