Kids clothes and toys swap

Come along an join us for our first fun and eco-friendly kids' clothes and toy swap.

Our event is perfect for families who want to reduce their carbon footprint and help the environment. Instead of buying new clothes and toys for your children, bring along items that are still in good condition but no longer needed. You can exchange them with other families, giving your kids the opportunity to get new-to-them clothes and toys without having to spend a dollar.

In addition to being eco-friendly, our swap is a fun way to meet other families in the community. Your kids can make new friends while you enjoy chatting with other parents. We'll also have some refreshments available, so you can relax and enjoy the event.

Don't worry if you've never been to a swap before. We'll have volunteers on hand to help you navigate the event and answer any questions you may have. We hope to see you there!

Arrival: 10:30am- 11:15am- drop off your clothes and toys, enjoy a cup of tea and a chat before the swap starts at 11:30am

Maximum 10 clothing items and 5 toys

We can't wait to see you there!!

You Yangs Nature Walk & Climate Connection Gathering

🌳 Date: Sunday, 27th October
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
📍 Meeting Point: Car park near the Park Office on Turntable Drive, You Yangs Regional Park

Join us for a rejuvenating 3.2km walk in the beautiful You Yangs Regional Park. This moderate uphill walk will get your heart pumping while treating you to stunning views of Melbourne, the bay, and Geelong. We'll meet at 10 AM, so make sure to bring your lunch or snacks, wear sturdy walking shoes, and check the weather to dress appropriately.

The purpose of this gathering is to foster meaningful connections—both with nature and with one another—in the context of Climate Change. Throughout the day, we’ll immerse ourselves in a guided sensory nature bathing experience, share our feelings about the climate crisis, and engage in supportive conversations with others who are on the same journey. You’ll also hear about the actions people are taking and how we can collectively make a difference.

Please note: This walk is for adults only, but stay tuned for future family-friendly events! We look forward to connecting with you. 🌿

Book Swap

Join us for a book swap at the Blue Mountains Writers' Festival!

Bring three books that your kids no longer read and go home with new (to you!) pre-loved books from other local families. Less shopping, more swapping!

Parents for Climate Blue Mountains and Sharon Baldwin from Loose Parts Press invite you to save money and reduce your consumption by joining in the Festival book swap. Kicking off with a reading from Sharon’s much-loved book about earthcare, P is for Permaculture, kids can come and go as they like, participate in fun craft activities using old books, and peruse the donations for their next favourite tale.

How it works? Bring up to three good quality books to give away (you could even pop a little note inside the book about who you are and why you loved it). If you don't have any books to swap, no worries. Please come along and take home a book all the same.

Central Coast Parents for Climate Gathering at Woytopia

Central Coast Parents for Climate Gathering @Woytopia

Come and meet other parents concerned about climate and wanting to take action! We'll be meeting at the wonderful sustainability festival, Woytopia, where we will have a stall.

We'll gather on the grass near the stall for a morning tea picnic and social event, while the kids run around the festival!

We'll talk about our group's plans for local action on climate, and meet some new parents at the festival.

If you'd like to volunteer on the stall as well, please let us know. The festival runs from 9am to 4pm so we'll need helpers all day!

Please contact Suzie Brown [email protected] if you can help.

We look forward to meeting you then!
